Job summary

Position Summary

The Business Analyst works with internal and external stakeholders to further define solutions and project vision for new opportunities for efficiencies and alignment with project goals. Work with IT Team and Subject Matter Experts to facilitate creation of solution architecture artifacts, participate in new process design, and contribute to solutions prototyping.

This is a 1 year contract role.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong understanding of the business operations in a domain
  • Interview key stakeholders and lead workshops with business users and subject matter experts to elicit requirements, understand existing business processes, and develop functional designs
  • Prioritize and rank stakeholder requirements and progressively elaborate the ideal solution though different requirements gathering techniques
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources in order to reconcile conflicts
  • Actively seek the identification of project issues and problems and manage or escalate as appropriate as lead, including troubleshooting financial data/reporting with Finance
  • Produce various project documents and project deliverables including business requirements documents (functional and non-functional requirements)
  • Identify business rules requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Lead and collaborate on the development of Test Strategies and Plan(s) with business leads as required
  • Conduct functional and full system testing of new systems and changes
  • Partner with stakeholders to help drive user adoption of the solution
  • Train client users as needed in CRM portal and other softwares
  • Analyze and document requirements for financial applications such as Epicor
  • Identify project implications at the system and department/organization level as well as interdependencies with other related projects
  • Assist with the development of RFQ’s, RFP’s, statements of work, project charters, etc.
  • Create presentations for senior management that clearly and concisely presents analysis and recommendations

Job Qualifications

  • University or College graduate in a related discipline or equivalent
  • Business Analysis designation e.g. CBAP, CCBA and Project Management Professional (PMP) or PMI Professional are considered an asset
  • Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a business analyst in full life cycle of systems: requirements definition, development, testing, training, problem resolution
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail; well versed in the decomposition and validation of business requirements
  • Experience creating business requirements documents, process flow maps, cost-benefit analysis, and business cases
  • Proven experience in preparing and executing comprehensive quality assurance and end user training plans in preparation for operational readiness
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and negotiation skills with a proven ability to successfully deal with complex issues working within the context of cross-functional project teams
  • Superior oral and written communication skills with expertise in translating complex technical concepts into clear and concise terms tailored to the audience
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel, Project and Visio are required
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Epicor would be an asset
  • Highly motivated individual, to apply creativity and innovation in the development of solutions essential to support our business
  • Ability to lead change through cross-functional teams or business unit projects
