The Bus Driver is responsible for transporting residents in the company vehicle to various events and activities coordinated by the residence.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain harmonious relationships with residents, their families, and employees;
• Assist residents with care requirements (walkers/wheelchairs, etc.) while entering and exiting the vehicle;
• Transport residents to scheduled locations, outings, and events;
• Assist with other duties as assigned;
• Be aware of Resident Rights & Responsibilities and promote them;
• Attend in-service training as required;
• Participate in staff meetings to stay informed of residence changes;
• Participate in the Quality Improvement Program;
• Work in a position of trust with vulnerable adults;
• Uphold the organization's values related to ethics, morality, and integrity;
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal English skills;
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (Class F in ON, Class 4 in MB, AB, BC);
• Proof of current CPR and First Aid certification;
• Enjoys working closely with team members and providing a better quality of life for residents;
• Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and patience;
• Previous experience with seniors is an asset;
• Must provide a current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check or be willing to obtain one.
