Role Overview

The Bus Driver is responsible for transporting residents in the company vehicle to various events and activities coordinated by the residence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain harmonious relationships with residents, their families, and employees;
  • Assist residents with care requirements (walkers/wheelchairs, etc.) when entering and exiting the vehicle;
  • Transport residents to scheduled locations, outings, and events;
  • Assist with other duties as assigned;
  • Respect and promote Resident Rights & Responsibilities;
  • Attend in-service training and staff meetings as required;
  • Participate in the Quality Improvement Program;
  • Work in a position of trust with vulnerable adults;
  • Uphold the organization’s values relating to ethics, morality, and integrity;
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal English skills;
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (Class F in ON, Class 4 in MB, AB, BC);
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification;
  • Enjoy working closely with team members and providing quality care;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and patience;
  • Previous experience with seniors is an asset;
  • Current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector and Criminal Background Check or willingness to obtain one.
