TRS Staffing Solutions is seeking an Intermediate Material Handling Engineer in Vancouver. You will design and assess bulk material handling systems, conveyors, and related equipment, contributing to project scope and engineering work plans.

The role supports procurement, vendor reviews, and cost estimates while ensuring compliance with project specs. Strong teamwork, engineering software proficiency, and site familiarity are key assets.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent education/experience.
• Experience with industrial material handling systems and equipment.
• Knowledge of conveyors, crushers, screens and bulk loading/unloading equipment.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and equipment selection.
• Familiarity with engineering standards and mechanical design practices.
• Experience reviewing vendor documentation and supporting procurement processes.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency with standard office and engineering software.
• Experience with conveyor design software is a plus, field experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Prepare designs, layouts, and calculations for bulk material transport and handling systems.
• Support project delivery with scope definition, work plans, technical docs and design development.
• Evaluate equipment and ensure designs meet project objectives.
• Monitor material quantities, metrics, and deliverables; report progress and changes.
• Participate in procurement, bid evaluations, and supplier document reviews.
• Review packages and vendor submissions for compliance with specs and quality.
• Support cost estimating, proposals, change management, and scope adjustments.
• Perform additional tasks as required.
