Job summary

UFA Limited in Red Deer County, AB, is seeking a Customer Sales and Service Representative 3 - Building Materials to help customers select and purchase goods, achieve sales targets, and support store operations. The role emphasizes strong service, product knowledge, and teamwork in a retail/yard environment.

Responsibilities include handling sales, CRM, and cash, guiding customers on materials, and potentially acting as Manager on Duty.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Diploma with 5+ years of related experience in a customer focused environment with focus on Lumber and Building Material sales.
• Building Material Estimating Certification is an asset
• Ability to read and estimate from blueprints is an asset.
• Lumber and Building Material retail background, interest, and aptitude are required along with expert level knowledge of building materials.
• Strong salesmanship skills with an extensive customer focused background required.
• Lumber yard and forklift experience is an asset. May be required to obtain forklift operator training to work in yard environment.
• Proven leadership with peer-to-peer coaching and mentoring abilities.
• Self-motivated with a continuous learning approach about the business of UFA.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Capable of lifting up to 25 kg and capable of physical labour.

Responsibilities

• Maximize sales and customer support through best-in-class customer service.
• Provide prompt service to customers in person or over the phone and manage CRM with regular customers.
• Handle sales leads and ensure accurate sales receipts and payments.
• Act as Subject Matter Expert of Lumber and Building Materials and assist junior staff.
• May perform opening/closing functions of the farm store as needed.
• Support store/site operations and may act as Manager on Duty when required.
• Assist with shipping/receiving and inventory maintenance.
• Maintain clean, organized store/yard and ensure safety and merchandising standards.
• Achieve sales targets and develop relationships with customers purchasing materials.
