Job summary

Dawson Road Maintenance, part of the Dawson Group, is seeking a Bridge Worker in Smithers, BC. The role reports to the Bridge Foreman and requires occasional travel across the province.

You will join a stable, family‑owned company with a strong safety focus and opportunities for long‑term advancement. You will be responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining bridges and related structures, working with tools and equipment, and assisting with inspections.

Qualifications

• Trade Journeyperson status or equivalent (Bridge workers, Iron workers, welders)
• Minimum two years bridge work experience
• Minimum two years road maintenance/construction experience
• Skilled with hand tools
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License
• Air brakes and Crane Certification are assets

Responsibilities

• Safety of self and others is the top priority
• Install, repair and maintain wooden, steel and concrete bridge structures, decks and related equipment
• Assist in detailed bridge inspections

Job description

Dawson Road Maintenance is looking for a Bridge Worker to assist with building and repairing a variety of bridges.

In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Road Maintenance, working in a permanent full-time position of Bridge Worker, reporting to the Bridge Foreman. Your base location will be Smithers, B.C. and will require some travel throughout our great province.

What Success Looks Like

• Must prioritize safety of self and others in all aspects of the job
• Installation, repair and maintenance of wooden, steel and concrete structures, deck resurfacing, operating road and bridge maintenance equipment.
• Assist in conducting detailed bridge inspections

What You Bring

• Trade Journeyperson, preferred trades are Bridge workers, Iron workers, and welders
• Minimum two (2) years of bridge work experience
• Minimum two (2) years of road maintenance and/or construction experience
• Skilled with hand tools
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License minimum
• Air brakes and Crane Certification an asset
