We are currently seeking a seasonal, full-time Bridge Construction Foreman to join our team in our Bridge Maintenance Division in Northern Alberta.
What You’ll Accomplish
- Ensure all work complies with Safety and Environment issues with SAFETY being a priority
- Lead and direct people, equipment and resources
- Conduct hazard assessments, tailgate meetings, and all other required documentation
- Ability to read blueprints, track and report daily job productions, job coding
- Maintain company image and ability to adhere to company policies and safe practices
- Ability to train and lead by example, delegate roles and responsibilities on crew, and utilize resources and crew members efficiently
- Have extensive knowledge in base, subgrades, gravel and overall construction practices
- Ability to order materials and measure for the appropriate quantities as per approved drawings
- Proficient and competent in heavy construction equipment and able to deal with difficult situations and resolve issues between co-workers, team mates, etc.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
What We’re Looking For
Education: High School Diploma
Field of Study Preferred: N/A
Required Work Experience: Minimum 2 years of foreman experience or 5+ years as lead hand or sub foreman. Bridge construction experience is considered an asset
Required Training/Certifications: Class 5 driver’s license
Travel Requirements: Willingness to work out of town within Alberta; most work will be remote.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be willing to work overtime and in all weather conditions
- The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership ability, a strong commitment to safety, and a proven record of working safely
- Must be physically fit and capable of crouching, bending, lifting, and kneeling
- Ability to complete field risk assessments and follow safe work procedures
- Must exercise sound judgment and communicate effectively in a team environment
- Must adhere to and promote safe work procedures at all times
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
