Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals is seeking a Branch Manager in Edmonton to lead daily operations, drive safety, and build a high-performing team. You will oversee budgeting, fleet utilisation, and customer relationships to deliver exceptional service at a growing location.

Ideal candidates bring 6+ years in a related role with 2+ years of leadership experience, along with strong negotiation and communication skills and a background in equipment rentals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in construction equipment rentals, utilities, pump and power equipment rentals or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience leading a team.
• Post-secondary education in business or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Specialized knowledge of pump equipment and/or power generation equipment preferred (diesel generators, dewatering and sewage pumps).
• Understanding of rental fleet management and construction/equipment rental industry is an asset.
• Excellent negotiation and customer relationship management skills.
• Excellent communication skills; able to interact professionally with customers, drivers, service technicians, and sales staff.
• Strong leadership and team management skills; capable of leading with integrity and trust.
• Must be flexible and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities; professional under pressure.
• Strong business sense with budgeting, P&L, and growth planning experience.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word; PowerBI is a bonus; Systematics experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support, and coach your team to create a positive, high-performing branch culture.
• Drive collaboration, accountability, customer focus, and safety in alignment with company values.
• Oversee daily branch operations to ensure efficiency and exceptional customer experience.
• Identify and analyze customer pump and power needs and propose suitable equipment solutions.
• Champion safety culture and ensure policy compliance.
• Partner with People and Culture on hiring, onboarding, performance management, and development.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships and prospects.
• Oversee inventory and fleet utilization for rental readiness and fleet adjustments.
• Manage branch budgets and monthly P&Ls; contribute to overall company goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and drive growth.
• Stay informed on market trends and competitor activity to remain competitive.
• Represent the company at industry events and in networking opportunities.
