Job summary

Messer Americas in Canada is seeking a Branch Manager to lead daily branch operations, ensuring safe, timely delivery and high levels of customer satisfaction across a diverse client base.

You will manage staff, monitor inventory and fleet, implement safety practices, and mentor the team with a focus on service excellence and profitability.

Qualifications

• Minimum College Diploma or equivalent with experience.
• 1–2 years’ experience in a similar role in an industrial environment.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills.
• Experience supervising staff and managing multiple tasks; gas/welding industry knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily branch activities to ensure customer satisfaction and profitability.
• Manage branch staff through coaching and teamwork to achieve performance goals.
• Ensure financial viability by monitoring inventory, cylinders, trucks and assets.
• Coordinate and maintain safe work practices across the branch.
• Provide product and basic sales training for branch staff to ensure effective service.

What You'll Do

As a Branch Manager you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the branch and ensure the timely delivery of sales and service to a wide variety of customers in a safe and effective manner and more:

• Oversee and coordinate the daily activities and work processes of the branch to ensure optimum customer satisfaction and branch profitability
• Manage branch staff through effective communication, coaching and team building to achieve superior performance in all key areas, with a particular focus on customer service
• Responsible for the financial viability of the branch by establishing and controlling key performance measurements with respect to inventory levels, cylinder control, truck routing and other fixed assets
• Coordinate, implement and maintain safe work practices
• Provide product and basic sales training for branch staff to ensure effective customer service.

What It Takes

• Minimum College Diploma or equivalent with experience
• Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role in an industrial environment
• Strong appreciation for excellence in customer service
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and coaching skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under time pressure
• Computer application knowledge of Word, Excel and SAP
• Experience managing people
• Knowledge of the gas and/or welding industry (asset)
