Job Description
As a Chit Chats Branch Floater, you will deliver a delightful experience to clients in our branches. You are the first line of defense for compliance adherence, ensuring shipments comply with customs laws—our business depends on it! You will process and sort shipments meticulously and navigate our platform proficiently. You will seek more efficient, cost-effective methods of operation while aligning with our strategic values.
You will build rapport with clients and teammates, show up on time, dress appropriately, and maintain a clean and tidy branch. Your primary work locations are Plateau, Brossard, and Montreal (St. Laurent), but you may be required to work at other locations in Quebec.
Responsibilities To Clients
- Greet customers, representing Chit Chats’ brand and values.
- Develop positive rapport with customers and represent the company professionally, helping to grow our business.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of the branch.
- Handle reception, administrative duties, and customer inquiries via phone, email, and face-to-face.
- Provide consultative service, answer questions, and recommend products/services.
- Process shipments carefully, including scanning, sorting, and loading onto skids.
- Manage inventory and order supplies.
- Handle incoming and outgoing client returns.
Responsibilities To Team
- Assist branches when short-staffed.
- Ensure compliance with safety and risk management policies.
- Open and close branches as needed.
- Follow company policies and procedures precisely.
- Contribute to escalation logs and provide summaries to management.
- Help optimize procedures for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain effective communication among team members.
- Perform additional tasks or projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Availability to work current branch hours Monday - Friday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
- Must be able to commute to all Montreal branches for coverage.
- At least 2 years of retail experience.
- Experience with income statements is desired.
- Strong computer skills, including Google Docs and Microsoft Office.
- Willing to take full responsibility for branch operations.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy loads when required.
- Attention to detail, multitasking, and maintaining a positive attitude.
- Proactive approach to logistics and customer service.
- Excellent bilingual communication skills (English and basic French).
- Passion for serving customers, exceeding expectations, and doing the right thing.
- Trustworthy, organized, reliable, and positive.
Additional Qualifications
- Current hours: Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with occasional Sunday coverage.
- Minimum 1 year of branch/store management experience.
- P&L experience is preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including Moneris, Google Docs, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to stand long periods and perform heavy lifting.
- Excellent communication skills and typing speed of at least 50 WPM.
- 1+ year experience in opening/closing offices and office administration.
- Customer service passion and reliability.
Additional Information
- Travel within the city may be required.
- This is a temporary contract with the potential to become permanent.
- Class 1 safety shoes required (green triangle patch).
