Branch Floater - Contract - Temporary Full-Time - Montreal QC

As a Chit Chats Branch Floater, you deliver a delightful experience to clients in our branches. You are the first line of defense for compliance adherence, and always do your best to ensure shipments comply with customs laws - our business depends on it! Your process and sort shipments meticulously and are highly proficient in navigating our platform. You are always looking for more efficient, cost-effective ways of getting things done while keeping in line with our strategic anchors and values.

You build rapport with clients and teammates alike. You show up on time, dress to work and get the job done because you know clients and teammates rely on you. You take pride in and maintain a clean and tidy branch.

You work primarily out of our Plateau, Brossard, and Montreal (St. Laurent) locations but are available to work out of our various locations in Quebec as required.

Responsibilities to Clients
  • Greet customers while representing Chit Chats’ brand and values.
  • Interact and develop a positive rapport with customers and represent the company professionally while taking every opportunity to grow our business.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and organization of the branch.
  • Handle reception, administrative duties, and customer inquiries via telephone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Offer consultative service, answer questions, and recommend products and services.
  • Process shipments meticulously, including scanning, sorting, and loading onto skids.
  • Take inventory and place orders for supplies.
  • Maintain incoming and outgoing client returns.
Responsibilities to Team
  • Assist branches when they are short-staffed.
  • Ensure full compliance with all safety and risk management policies and procedures.
  • Open and close branches when needed.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and compliance protocols.
  • Contribute to logs of escalations and provide summaries to management.
  • Help teammates to ensure effective and low-cost procedures.
  • Perform extra tasks or projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Availability to work current branch hours Monday - Friday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Ability to commute to all Montreal branches for coverage as needed.
  • Two (2) years of retail experience.
  • Experience with income statements is desired.
  • Strong computer skills, including Google Docs and Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to accept full responsibility for branch operations.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy loads when required.
  • Ability to multitask with attention to detail and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Proactive attitude and willingness to assist logistics processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and basic French.
  • Passion for serving customers, exceeding expectations, and doing the right thing.
  • Trustworthy, organized, reliable, and positive.

Note: Current branch hours are Monday to Friday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with occasional Sunday coverage. Two (2) years of branch/store management experience required. P&L experience is preferred. Strong typing skills (minimum 50 WPM). Office opening and closing experience (minimum 1 year). Office administration experience (minimum 1 year). Additional requirements include safety shoes (green triangle patch) and potential city travel.
