Job summary

The Government of Alberta is seeking a Branch Administrator to provide high-level operational and administrative coordination in the Executive Director's Office. Qualifications

  • Experience with budget forecasting, financial monitoring, invoices, expense claims and procurement.
  • Knowledge of administrative, financial, records-management, human-resource and information-management policies and procedures.
  • Experience coordinating correspondence, meetings, calendars, action requests and confidential materials.
  • Strong communication, organisation, judgement, problem-solving and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage sensitive information and make decisions within the position’s scope.
  • Proficiency with standard office software and electronic administrative systems.

  • Prepare and monitor budget forecasts, expenditures, spreadsheets, payables and receivables in collaboration with financial staff.

Are you an experienced administrative professional who thrives in a fast-paced executive environment? The Branch Administrator provides high-level operational and administrative coordination support to the Executive Director's Office and branch leadership. The position serves as a key liaison with the Assistant Deputy Minister's Office, divisional partners, and other ministry stakeholders to support seamless service delivery, effective branch operations, and a positive, collaborative workplace culture.


In this role, you will:



  • Coordinate executive office operations, including calendars, meetings, correspondence, records, supplies, office logistics and competing priorities.

  • Prepare and monitor budget forecasts, expenditures, spreadsheets, payables and receivables in collaboration with financial staff.

Qualifications

High school diploma plus a minimum of four years of progressively responsible related administrative experience. Equivalencies will be considered on the basis of one year of education for one year of experience, or one year of experience for one year of education.



  • Senior-level administrative support experience in a complex, high-volume environment.

  • Experience with budget forecasting, financial monitoring, invoices, expense claims and procurement.

  • Knowledge of administrative, financial, records-management, human-resource and information-management policies and procedures.

  • Experience coordinating correspondence, meetings, calendars, action requests and confidential materials.

  • Strong communication, organization, judgement, problem-solving and relationship-management skills.

  • Ability to work independently, manage sensitive information and make decisions within the position’s scope.

  • Proficiency with standard office software and electronic administrative systems.


Assets



  • Alberta Public Service or public-sector experience.

  • Knowledge of Government of Alberta financial and administrative policies and systems.

  • Experience supporting an executive office, branch leadership team or multiple senior leaders.

  • Experience with contracts, grants, records management, procurement or office logistics.

  • Employment status and anticipated duration: Temporary until March 31, 2027
