Job summary

Botanist at Fairmont Pacific Rim Vancouver seeks an Expeditor to bridge Culinary and Front of House, ensuring timely, elegant dish delivery and flawless presentation in a luxury dining environment.

You will monitor ticket times, communicate with chefs and servers, and maintain the pass to the highest standards, supporting special events and high-profile guests in a vibrant, Pacific Northwest dining concept.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a high-volume, upscale restaurant or luxury hotel preferred.
  • Strong communication between Culinary and Front of House.
  • Excellent attention to detail and presentation.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the seamless flow of dishes between kitchen and service team, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Act as the key communication link between Culinary and Front of House.
  • Review all dishes for accuracy, presentation, and quality to Forbes Travel Guide 5-Star standards.
  • Monitor ticket times and prioritize orders during high-volume periods.
  • Ensure plates are garnished and presented to elevated standards.
  • Communicate delays, VIP requests, and special instructions to Chefs and staff.
  • Support large parties and tasting menus with precision.
  • Maintain a clean, organized pass area and uphold health and sanitation standards.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Coordinate the seamless flow of dishes between the kitchen and service team, ensuring timely and elegant delivery
  • Act as the key communication link between Culinary and Front of House, supporting a smooth and synchronized service
  • Review all dishes for accuracy, presentation, and quality, ensuring they meet Forbes Travel Guide 5-Star standards before leaving the pass
  • Monitor ticket times and prioritize orders to maintain an exceptional pace of service during high-volume periods
  • Ensure all plates are garnished, polished, and presented to Botanist’s elevated dining standards
  • Communicate clearly with Chefs and service team regarding delays, modifications, VIP guests, and special requests
  • Support large parties, tasting menus, and special dining experiences with precision and attention to detail
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient pass area at all times
  • Uphold all health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Other duties assigned
Qualifications
Your experience and skills include:
  • Previous experience in a high-volume, upscale restaurant or luxury hotel environment preferred
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to confidently interact with both Culinary and Front of House teams
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for presentation and quality
  • Ability to remain calm, organized, and efficient under pressure
  • Strong sense of urgency and time management
  • A collaborative mindset with a commitment to delivering memorable guest experiences
  • Serving It Right certification
