Under the supervision of the Manager, Biomedical Engineering, the Biomedical Engineering Technologist provides support for medical technology by repairing, maintaining, and calibrating life support and other medical devices as well as maintaining medical computers and networks. The Biomedical Engineering Technologist also assists in the training of physicians, nurses, therapists, and other technical staff as well as performing safety performance and routine inspections on electronic, electrical, and mechanical equipment and systems.
This is considered a regional position and would require travel. The home base will be at the Dickson building, Central Zone, but will support clinical engineering work at Cobequid, Hants, Tri-Facilities and all clinics in Halifax Regional Municipality.

$28.89 - $38.67 Hourly
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
This position is currently eligible for a Market Adjustment of approximately $10,000.00 annually. Eligibility for a Market Adjustment is reviewed periodically.
