Job summary

Cober Printing Limited in Calgary, Alberta, is seeking a Bindery Operator for the Photobooks department. Reporting to the Digital Print Operations Manager, you will operate a variety of machines and equipment to assemble and finish photobooks, and participate in cross-training across stations to ensure quality and timely completion of the final product.

Qualifications

• Secondary School Diploma or equivalent; print experience is an asset.
• Written and verbal fluency in English.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple duties.
• Reliability and dependability.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work with others while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to train complex processes.
• Flexibility in scheduling; overtime may be required.
• Physical effort: stand/walk up to 7 hours; lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as Case Maker, Cutters, Laminators, Layflat, PUR Binders, Smasher.
• Perform routine inspection and maintenance on machinery.
• Ensure correct processes and materials for high-quality results.
• Collaborate across the department to meet quality and timing standards.
• Cross-train to gain proficiency in all Photobooks stations.
• Inspect final product for damage or quality issues.
• Keep workspace clean, safe, and tidy.
• Instruct temporary employees on best practices for multiple tasks.
• Complete additional tasks and comply with safety requirements.
