Bilingual Underwriting Assistant

At Aviva, we are driven by our Values: Care, Commitment, Community, and Confidence. Join our Corporate and Specialty Risk team as a Bilingual Underwriting Assistant, supporting our underwriting teams in a bilingual (French and English) capacity.

Your role involves supporting our underwriting teams, learning, and developing a career in underwriting. You will contribute to our teams' efforts to think bigger, serve better, and achieve results.

What You'll Do:
  1. Collaborate and work independently to meet deadlines as part of a remote team.
  2. Assist underwriters with logging new submissions, processing declinatures, renewals, endorsements, and electronic filing of documents.
  3. Process loss control reports, obtain D&B reports, prepare catastrophe analyses, insurance binders, and other documents.
  4. Respond to broker service requests and follow up on information needed from brokers.
  5. Enter data into RTM, RTG, and SFDC systems and update tracking documents.
  6. Reconcile financial discrepancies collaboratively with GCS Stakeholders.
  7. Produce reports, presentations, and summaries as needed.
  8. Participate in special projects as required.
What You'll Bring:
  1. Bilingual proficiency in French and English, both written and verbal.
  2. Excellent communication skills across phone, email, and meetings in both languages.
  3. Completion of a related educational degree/diploma and/or accreditation.
  4. 1-2 years of administrative experience with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  5. Effective time management skills and ability to work autonomously.
  6. Proficiency in web and DOS-based systems, databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  7. Strong organizational and adaptability skills in a dynamic environment.
  8. Interest in developing a career in commercial insurance.
