Job summary

The City of Cornwall is seeking a Transit Coordinator to administer specialized transit services, assess eligibility, schedule bookings, and engage with residents to improve access to transit programs.

You will ensure compliance with accessibility standards, respond to public inquiries, and support service planning with internal departments. A minimum of 3 years in transit or related fields is required, along with bilingual English/French CBC level assessments.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in transit coordination, customer service, or related fields.
• Strong understanding of municipal transit services and eligibility rules.
• Excellent communication with residents and agencies.
• Ability to analyze service needs and propose improvements.
• Proficient with scheduling systems and transit software.
• Familiarity with AODA and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Administer specialized transit eligibility assessments and recordkeeping.
• Schedule and book specialized transit services to meet rider needs.
• Be the primary contact for the public, addressing inquiries and concerns.
• Promote transit initiatives and inform residents about services.
• Maintain accurate reports on eligibility, bookings, and interactions.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with municipal policies and provincial regulations.
• Monitor service performance and recommend improvements.
• Assist with reporting, policy development, and customer communications.
• Process cash and debit transactions at the front desk.
