Job summary

York Region is seeking a Transit Control Centre professional to monitor BRT and conventional services, ensure contractor compliance, and support service changes. You will manage CRM data, verify timetables, and use CAD/AVL and GFI systems to maintain service quality.

The role requires 3+ years in transit operations, strong communication, and the ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Immediate start for a on-call replacement in Richmond Hill.

Qualifications

• Post secondary certificate or diploma (1 year+).
• Minimum three years experience in transit operations.
• Knowledge of transit legislation and standards.
• Experience with CAD/AVL, PRESTO, GFI and on-board equipment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; customer service oriented.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and report on operation of conventional and BRT transit services.
• Ensure contractor compliance and investigate concerns.
• Verify schedule adherence and detours; coordinate CRM cases.
• Utilize ITS equipment to track vehicle locations and data.
• Coordinate responses to service changes and incidents; liaise with staff.
