Job summary

A technology manufacturing firm in Toronto is looking for an Entry Level Quality Assurance Tester. The ideal candidate will work with the RD team to create test plans, execute tests, and document results. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering is required, along with some hands-on experience in Software QA. Familiarity with Agile methodology and communication protocols is a plus. This role offers full-time employment in a dynamic environment.

• Experience following Agile development methodology.
• Experience with communication protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, DNP3, MQTT, IEC61850 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with RD team to create test plans, write test script, conducts verification tests, and document test results
• Set up and maintain different test environments
• Execute regression tests, automated tests, manual tests, integrated tests
• Work with application engineers to duplicate and demonstrate issues
• Analyze, document, and publish test results
• Follows established development guidelines and standards and makes recommendations for improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent
• 1+ years hands-on experience in Embedded software QA or development environment.
• Experience to use of standard test equipment such as signal generators and oscilloscopes
• Experience following Agile development methodology and familiar with software tools such as Jira and Confluence
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Experience with communication protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, DNP3, MQTT, IEC61850 is a plus
• Experience with power system is a plus
