Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking an HR Support Associate for a 9-month contract, based in Mississauga. You will act as the first contact for HR inquiries, draft letters, and manage data in our ticketing system, supporting nationwide managers and associates.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with HRIS and payroll/ticketing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Draft offer letters, verification of employment letters, and memos.
  • Triages shared HR mailbox and tracks data for reporting.
  • Provide administrative support to People Advisors and Business Partners.
  • Coordinate with Payroll and Benefits on issues.

Job description

The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $65,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, & discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. We are committed to offering competitive compensation & comply with all applicable pay transparency legislation. Further details regarding our total rewards program will be shared by the Talent Acquisition team during the hiring process. Canadian work experience is not a requirement for this role. Please note that artificial intelligence‑based tools may be used at certain stages of the recruitment & applicant screening process.

This is a posting for a 9‑month contract opportunity.

Responsibilities
  • Act as first point of contact by email and phone for all HR issues, supporting Managers and Associates in business units across the country, explaining company policies, providing advice or gathering data and escalating to the HR Advisor group for more thorough support.
  • Drafting of offer letters, verification of employment letters, performance management documentation, miscellaneous memos, etc.
  • Triage shared HR mailbox to create cases in our internal ticketing system, remove out‑of‑scope items, archive addressed items, and track data for reporting to HR and business stakeholders.
  • Provide administrative support to the People Advisors and Business Partner groups.
  • Work closely with other support groups like Payroll and Benefits to help address any benefits and payroll issues.
Must meet
  • Bilingual (French and English) is required.
  • Diploma in HR, administration, or in a related field
  • Previous experiences in a similar role within HR department (asset)
  • Strong knowledge of current legislation in Employment Standards, Human Rights Act and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Highly motivated, energetic individual able to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment under pressure.
  • Readily adaptable to changing work priorities.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and active listening (customer service focus) communication skills in French and English.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Exposure to HRIS and/or payroll systems, ticketing systems, and the ability to navigate various systems to gather information.
Must meet
  • Le bilinguisme (français et anglais) est obligatoire. Maîtrise de la langue anglaise avancée pour communiquer avec la maison mère, les partenaires et les fournisseurs assignés présents à un niveau national ainsi que les commanditaires, sur une base quotidienne.
  • Diplôme en Ressources humaines, administration ou autre domaine similaire
  • Expériences préalables dans un rôle similaire au sein d’un département RH (atout)
  • Solide connaissance des lois sur les normes du travail et de celles sur la santé et sécurité au travail, ainsi que de la Loi sur les droits de la personne.
  • Personne très motivée et énergique, capable de travailler sous pression, en équipe, dans un environnement dynamique.
  • S’adapter facilement aux priorités de travail en constante évolution.
  • Excellentes aptitudes de communication verbale et écrite, et capacité à écouter (orientation service à la clientèle).
  • Excellente connaissance de la suite Microsoft Office, y compris Excel et PowerPoint.
  • Connaissance de SIRH et/ou des systèmes de paie et de billetterie, et capacité à naviguer à travers plusieurs systèmes pour recueillir de l’information.
