About The Opportunity

Our nationally recognized client in downtown Ottawa is seeking a fluently bilingual Payroll Specialist for a 14-month contract. This organization values work-life balance within a collaborative, team-focused culture, accompanied by a competitive compensation package.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Ensure accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll processing, maximizing efficiencies, maintaining operational standards, and adhering to policies and procedures.
2. Perform time and attendance processing and interface with payroll system.
3. Process CRA Source Deductions, Union Deductions, EHT/WSIB/WCB remittances, etc.
4. Update employee payroll records in the system.
5. Process new hire and termination records.
6. Administer Records of Employment and Benefits plan enrollment.
7. Respond to staff inquiries professionally and promptly.
8. Stay updated with payroll best practices and legislative changes.
9. Perform other Payroll, HR, and Administrative duties as needed.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

1. Fluency in both official languages (English and French).
2. PCP Designation (Final Module or Active in Good Standing).
3. 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
4. Experience with ADP Workforce Now is an asset.
5. Experience with Union payroll is a strong asset.
6. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
7. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize.
8. Strong problem-solving skills.
9. Excellent interpersonal skills, self-starter, and collaborative attitude.
10. Understanding and application of confidentiality principles.
