Job summary

ISG Search Inc. in Toronto, Canada, is seeking a Senior Payroll Analyst – Bilingual to lead complex Canadian multi-provincial payroll activities and partner with HR, Finance and auditors.

The role focuses on process improvements, system enhancements and year-end reporting. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of Canadian payroll experience, Workday Payroll expertise, PCP designation, and fluent English and French.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead complex Canadian multi-provincial payroll activities, including processing, balancing, validation, reconciliations and year-end reporting.
• Investigate and resolve complex payroll issues, retroactive calculations and employee inquiries.
• Serve as a Workday Payroll subject matter expert, supporting configuration and system changes.
• Improve payroll processes, documentation, controls, and efficiency.
• Partner with HR, Finance, Treasury, Tax, HRIS, vendors and auditors on payroll matters.
• Mentor Payroll Analysts through guidance and knowledge sharing.
• Prepare payroll reports and support acquisitions, integrations and payroll projects.

This role supports complex multi-provincial payroll operations, system enhancements and process improvements.

Principal tasks and responsibilities include:

• Lead complex Canadian multi-provincial payroll activities, including processing, balancing, validation, reconciliations, statutory remittances and year-end reporting.
• Investigate and resolve complex payroll issues, retroactive calculations, corrections, variances, escalations and employee inquiries.
• Serve as a Workday Payroll subject matter expert, supporting configuration, testing, user acceptance testing, system enhancements and payroll-related changes.
• Improve payroll processes, documentation, internal controls, automation and operational efficiency.
• Partner with HR, Finance, Treasury, Tax, HRIS, external vendors and auditors to resolve payroll matters and support audit requirements.
• Mentor Payroll Analysts through technical guidance, knowledge sharing and support with complex payroll scenarios.
• Prepare payroll reports and insights, and support acquisitions, integrations, system implementations and special payroll projects.

Our client is a leading healthcare services organization with a national network of practices. They are seeking an experienced bilingual payroll professional to support their Canadian payroll operations on a one-year fixed-term contract.

Qualifications and pre-requisites:

• Minimum five years of progressive Canadian payroll experience supporting large, multi-provincial payrolls.
• Advanced knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, statutory remittances, reconciliations and year-end reporting.
• Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation required; Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) designation considered an asset.
• Workday Payroll experience required, including testing, system enhancements, payroll-related changes, implementations, process improvements or projects.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, problem-solving, Excel and organizational skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to meet critical deadlines.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to explain complex payroll concepts clearly.
• Professional proficiency in spoken and written English and French required.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
