Take the next step in your HR career by supporting a diverse workforce within a large, international organization. In this remote role, you will provide strategic guidance and day-to‑day HR support to approximately 900 employees across multiple business units. You will advise leaders on complex employee relations matters, labour relations, performance management, and organizational change. Working closely with HR colleagues, recruitment teams, and business leaders, you will help shape workforce strategies and strengthen organizational effectiveness. This position combines independent decision‑making with collaborative problem‑solving in both unionized and non‑unionized environments. It is an opportunity to influence people practices, coach colleagues, and contribute to a more inclusive and effective workplace. Candidates can work remotely from anywhere in Canada, with a preference for Quebec.

Accountabilities
  • Provide day‑to‑day HR guidance and coaching to employees, managers, and leaders across multiple business units, supporting approximately 900 employees.
  • Advise on complex employee relations issues, including corrective actions, policy violations, performance concerns, workplace conflicts, and collective agreement matters.
  • Manage HR matters across unionized and non‑unionized environments while ensuring consistent, fair, and legally compliant practices.
  • Partner with HR centres of expertise, shared services, compliance teams, and HR business partners to deliver effective people solutions.
  • Work independently through ambiguous and sensitive situations, adapting priorities and recommending practical solutions as business needs evolve.
  • Coach HR colleagues and other stakeholders, sharing expertise and strengthening HR capabilities across the organization.
  • Collaborate with talent acquisition teams and business leaders to assess workforce needs, develop hiring plans, and support effective recruitment strategies.
  • Evaluate current talent and help develop long‑term workforce strategies that identify the skills and qualifications needed to improve business performance.
  • Lead and contribute to organizational change initiatives and continuous improvement projects, from planning and design through implementation.
  • Communicate and implement HR programs, policies, and processes for employees and client groups.
  • Support change management activities by developing processes that help teams navigate organizational transitions effectively.
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders, influence decisions without relying on formal authority, and manage conflict constructively.
  • Promote inclusion, respect individual differences, and maintain a professional, approachable, and impartial presence across the organization.
Requirements
  • Fluency in both French and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A college or university degree in Human Resources or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 8 years of progressively responsible experience as an HR generalist, including a minimum of 3 years in labour relations.

  • Working knowledge of employment and labour legislation, relevant legal decisions, and regulatory requirements across multiple Canadian jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting a large remote workforce and helping employees and managers navigate the challenges of remote work.
  • Strong expertise in employee relations, management coaching, conflict resolution, and handling sensitive workplace communications.
  • Proven ability to influence and advise stakeholders at different organizational levels without direct authority.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with practical knowledge of methods for improving HR processes and organizational effectiveness.
  • A Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP), Certified Industrial Relations Advisor (CRIA), or comparable HR designation is an asset but is not mandatory.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, with travel expected to be less than 5%.
  • Must be based in Canada. The role is fully remote, with Quebec preferred but not required.
Benefits
  • Competitive annual salary: CAD $90,000–$120,000, depending on education, experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and market conditions.
