Job summary

The successful candidate will work in a hybrid office setting three days per week, with potential remote options across Canada for the right candidate, and must bring strong English/French communication along with 5+ years in underwriting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a group benefits underwriting role.
• Fluency in English and French.
• Strong understanding of financial arrangements including non-refund, ASO and retention accounting.
• Post-secondary education or equivalent.
• Knowledge of group insurance products.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Team player able to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• GBA/CEBS courses are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze and interpret financial information to prepare new business quotations.
• Review claims experience for renewals and prepare financial reports.
• Handle inquiries, amendments and rate negotiations in a timely manner.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external contacts.
