DGA Careers Inc. is recruiting a Senior Group Underwriter to support insurer clients nationwide in Canadian group life & health reinsurance.

You’ll tackle complex, non-standard cases and help shape underwriting guidelines, working with actuarial, medical underwriting, claims, and senior leadership. Hybrid work is offered (Toronto or Montreal preferred; remote considered for the right candidate in other cities).

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive Canadian group life & health underwriting experience.
• Strong ability to explain guideline reasoning and build solutions where no precedent exists.
• Comfort operating in ambiguous, non-black-and-white situations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted underwriting resource for insurer clients across Canada on group reinsurance treaties, quotes, and renewals.
• Take ownership of unusual or complex cases with no standard template.
• Draft and negotiate treaty language and amendments; evolve underwriting guidelines.
• Collaborate with actuarial, medical underwriting, claims, and senior leadership on client relationships.
• Stay current on product, market, and legislative trends affecting the group benefits space.
