Job summary

Altis is seeking a strategic, hands‑on finance leader to join their executive operations team, overseeing financial stewardship, operational infrastructure, and administrative leadership for a national organization serving tens of thousands of members across Canada.

You will guide financial planning, reporting, and modernization while collaborating with national executives and the governing board to strengthen internal processes and programs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive finance leadership in a complex or mission‑driven organization.
• Experience preparing and managing large budgets and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, audit processes, and financial controls in not‑for‑profit environments.
• Experience reporting to a board or executive committee.
• Exceptional bilingual communication skills in English and French across diverse stakeholders.
• Experience overseeing payroll/HR administration or finance operations in a unionized environment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and oversight of the organization’s annual operating budget with financial analysis to support strategic decision‑making.
• Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance with strong internal controls.
• Supervise and mentor a finance team of eight professionals in AP, payroll oversight, and administration.
• Manage cash flow, investments, and financial modelling for planning and sustainability.
• Collaborate with executive leadership and board committees, supporting audits and priorities.
