Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review and adjudicate travel insurance claims against policy wordings.
• Request additional information from clients, providers, and suppliers.
• Calculate benefit payments and process claim payments or denials.
• Document claim decisions with clear rationales.
• Manage claim files from receipt to resolution.
• Communicate status and rationale to claimants in English and French.
• Assist with appeals and escalated cases.
• Identify potential fraud indicators.

About the role

The Bilingual Claims Examiner will evaluate and adjudicate travel insurance claims according to policy terms, conditions, and applicable regulations. You will process medical, trip cancellation/interruption, baggage loss, and other travel-related claims while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and customer satisfaction. The Bilingual Claims Examiner will efficiently guide the claimant through their claims journey by proactively providing updates and facilitating claim settlement requirements.

What you'll do

• Review and analyze claims documentation against policy wordings to determine coverage eligibility and benefit amounts
• Request additional information from clients, healthcare providers, and travel suppliers
• Calculate benefit payments according to policy limits and exclusions, and process claim payments and/or issue denial letters
• Document claim decisions with clear rationales
• Manage claim files from receipt to resolution
• Communicate with claimants to provide status, claims decision rationale, and respond to general inquiries through voice and digital channels, including handling of inbound phone calls in both English and French
• Assist with appeals and escalated cases
• Identify potential fraud indicators
