Job description

NOTE : To be eligible to apply for these positions you must :

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent residents or persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.
  • Possess an intermediate level of French proficiency

This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Initiative. Responsibilities :

  • Provide assistance and support to the coordination of programs, services and events.
  • Conduct outreach to the community, provide information, and promote programs and activities.
  • Support administrative aspects of programs, including registrations, permission forms, attendance, report writing, evaluations, program documentation
  • Act as a teaching assistant to Chief Instructors.
  • Work with the team to provide collaborative programming.
  • Provide non-judgmental, inclusive support to learners
  • Other duties, relevant to the position, as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications :

  • Be able to communicate effectively in French.
  • An interest in working in community-based organizations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to plan and organize activities and to take initiative and work independently.
  • Computer proficiency, including word processing, internet, spreadsheets, MS office, publisher, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to think innovatively to promote programs utilizing Canva or other graphic design tools is an asset.
  • Work evenings and weekends as required for special events.
