Job summary

Securitas in Ottawa is seeking a Security Guard to join our on-site team. The role requires bilingual English/French communication, a valid Ontario Security Guard License, and at least 1 year of experience in a similar position.

Day shifts may extend 8–12 hours. You will lead client-site security efforts, complete rounds, file reports, and coordinate with management for staffing and post orders. A Secret Clearance is required upon hire.

Qualifications

• Must be bilingual (English and French).
• Must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance (Canadian citizenship and a min of 10 years residency in Canada are required).
• Ability to work day shifts, can be 8–12 hours in duration.
• Have a valid Ontario Security Guard License.
• Have a min of 1 year experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Provides lead direction at assigned client site(s) on assigned shift(s); enforces post orders, completes rounds, submits reports; notifies authorities and client in emergencies.
• Counsels and disciplines personnel as appropriate; meets with employees and documents actions.
• Assists in training of Security Guards and review of post orders.
• Assists in payroll submissions and personnel information.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs the duties of a Security Guard in accord with post orders and company policy.
• Provides lead direction at assigned client site(s) on assigned shift(s); acts to ensure that post orders are followed, that established rounds are completed, and that adequate reports are filed; notifies proper authorities and client in emergency situations.
• May counsel and discipline personnel as appropriate; seeks advice from company management or designated representatives as appropriate; meets personally with employees and documents counseling and disciplinary actions.
• Assists in the training of Security Guards and review of post orders.
• Assists in the submission of payroll and personnel information to the company as designated.
• In conjunction with company management or designated company representatives acts to ensure adequate security coverage of all posts.
• Prepares, files and submits various reports as required.
• Meets with client representatives as scheduled or as needed to provide assurance that all security requirements are being met and to provide quality customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS
