Job summary

The Government of Manitoba is seeking a Bilingual Curriculum Consultant (Technology Education) to join BEF and support the development and implementation of curricula, assessments and professional learning for Francophone and French immersion programs.

The role requires fluency in French and English, in-depth knowledge of Manitoba K-12 curriculum, and experience leading projects and professional development across diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience with the Manitoba K-12 curriculum across different grade levels and Programs.
• Knowledge of Technology Education including Applied Technology, Commerce Education, Vocational Training, Career Development, Apprenticeship.
• Experience in curriculum implementation and effective teaching practices.
• Strong understanding of French Immersion and Français programs in a K-12 setting.
• Ability to lead people, projects and initiatives.
• Experience in developing and facilitating professional learning sessions.
• Knowledge of diversity and inclusion in a K-12 system.
• Strong political acumen and ability to manage confidential situations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in French.

Introduction

The Department of Education and Early Childhood Education is looking to fill a Bilingual Curriculum Consultant (Technology Education) position within the Bureau de l'éducation française (BEF).

Duties:

• developing and implementing curricula, support materials, assessments and/or professional learning;
• representing the BEF and the Department by working with partners and stakeholders in the Français and/or French immersion milieu on projects and matters reflecting common priorities;
• working with colleagues in other units of the BEF as well as other areas of the Department or across Departments on projects and matters reflecting common priorities in matters related to Education; and
• taking the lead on initiatives to support the Bureau de l’éducation française in its work with the field.

Qualifications:

• Experience with the Manitoba K-12 curriculum across different grade levels and Programs. An equivalent combination of training and experience may also be considered.
• Working experience and expertise in the area of Technology Education (including but not limited to Applied Technology, Commerce Education, Vocational Training, Career Development, Apprenticeship).
• Experience with curriculum implementation and effective teaching practices.
• Thorough understanding of the French Immersion and Français programs in a K-12 school setting.
• Experience in leading people, projects and/or initiatives.
• Experience in the development and facilitation of professional learning sessions.
• Knowledge and understanding of diversity and inclusion in a K-12 school system.
• Strong political acumen and the ability to manage confidential, controversial and sensitive situations.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills in French.

Conditions of Employment:

• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
• Must have or be eligible for a valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate
• Must have the ability to travel throughout Manitoba as required
• Must be fluently bilingual (French and English)
• Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry Check
• Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver's licence
