Job summary

Fairstone Bank is seeking a Credit Manager to oversee policy compliance and the team delivering Montreal’s credit operations. You will ensure policies are followed, train staff, and maintain quality standards while aligning with risk strategy across originations and audits.

You will lead a bilingual team, coordinate with sales and dealer partners, and ensure documentation and processes meet regulatory requirements. Hybrid work and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of Credit adjudication experience.
• Experience in a financial institution and knowledge of the auto industry.
• Strong understanding of Equifax/Trans Union credit bureaus.
• Experience with LOS software systems.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Responsibility and oversight for ensuring all Credit policies and processes are followed.
• Ensuring your team is trained on policies, processes, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensuring your team’s productivity SLAs, quality standards, and KPIs are achieved.
• Policy escalations and decision-making adhere to proper authority levels.
• Work with Originations to understand and execute the credit risk strategy.
• Perform audits and oversee remediation from audit/compliance findings.
• Recruitment, onboarding, training, development, and retention of bilingual staff in the Montreal Credit department.
• Support collaboration with Sales, Income, Funding, and Dealer partners to meet objectives.
