Job summary

Canopy Growth seeks a Bilingual Payroll Specialist to support payroll for 600+ employees across multiple sites. This remote Ottawa-based role supports full-cycle payroll with confidentiality and strong customer service. Collaboration with HR and Finance ensures compliance with Canadian regulations.

Experience in high-volume payroll, proficiency in Excel, and familiarity with Workday are essential. Access to extended health, dental coverage and a retirement plan are provided.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Payroll Administration, or related field.
• Bilingualism (English and French) is required.
• 2-5 years of payroll processing experience in a high-volume environment.
• Experience with Canadian payroll; U.S. payroll experience is an asset.
• Experience with Workday or another HRIS/payroll system is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Process accurate and timely payroll for over 600 employees across multiple locations and shifts.
• Review, verify, and enter payroll data including hires, terminations, salary changes, overtime, bonuses, and taxable benefits.
• Monitor timesheets and payroll transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Interpret and apply federal and provincial payroll legislation and company policies for compliance.
• Assist with year-end activities and statutory reporting (T4s, ROEs, etc.).
• Support payroll system updates, testing, and process improvements.
