Job summary

Inner Circle Agency Inc. in Montreal seeks a meticulous bookkeeper to support a growing notarial practice. You will manage day-to-day accounting with emphasis on trust accounting and real estate transaction administration, collaborating with notaries and the operations team.

The role requires bilingual fluency in French and English, at least 1 year in accounting, strong knowledge of Quebec GST/QST, and keen attention to accuracy. On-site work with local banking errands as needed.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Strong knowledge of Quebec GST/QST and bookkeeping principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to manage multiple files.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with notaries, accountants, management.
• Fully bilingual in French and English.
• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Reconcile bank statements, client accounts, and trust accounts per notarial regulations.
• Process invoices, payments, deposits, and other daily transactions.
• Prepare and submit GST/QST returns and other government remittances.
• Support financial administration and reconciliation of real estate transactions.
• Assist with monthly and year-end closings with external accountants and management.
• Maintain organized financial documentation for compliance.
