Job summary

Inner Circle Agency Inc. seeks a meticulous Bookkeeper for a Montreal notary firm. The role focuses on trust accounting and the financial administration of real estate transactions, working closely with notaries and the operations team.

Ideal candidates are highly organized, autonomous, and fluent in French and English, with at least 1 year of accounting experience and knowledge of Quebec GST/QST rules. On-site in Montreal with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Strong knowledge of Quebec accounting practices, GST/QST, and general bookkeeping principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple files.
• Fully bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken.
• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for occasional deposits and errands.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Reconcile bank statements, client accounts, and trust accounts per notarial regulations.
• Process invoices, payments, deposits and other day‑to‑day transactions.
• Prepare and submit GST/QST returns and other government remittances.
• Support financial administration of real estate transactions and monthly/yearly closings.
• Collaborate with notaries, accountants and management to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Maintain organized financial documentation and ensure records are compliant.
