Job summary

Inner Circle Agency Inc. Montreal seeks a detail-oriented Bookkeeper for a notary firm, focusing on trust accounting and real estate transaction administration.

This role collaborates with notaries and operations, and is well suited to someone organized, precise, and comfortable working independently in a regulated environment. You will maintain records, handle GST/QST, and support monthly and year-end closes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Strong knowledge of Quebec accounting practices and GST/QST.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Able to manage multiple files with strong time management.
• Fully bilingual in French and English (written and spoken).
• Valid driver's license for occasional deposits.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records including accounts payable and receivable.
• Reconcile bank statements, client and trust accounts per notarial regulations.
• Process invoices, payments, deposits and other daily transactions.
• Prepare GST/QST returns and other government remittances.
• Support financial administration and reconciliation of real estate transactions.
• Assist with monthly and year-end closings with external accountants and management.
• Maintain organized documentation and ensure compliance.
