Job summary

Hitachi Rail invites applications for a Bid Management Intern in Toronto for a 12-month period beginning January 2027. You will gain hands-on experience in preparing and submitting bid proposals for large-scale projects within a global leader driving digital transformation.

The role requires 40 hours per week, a hybrid work model with at least 2 days in-office, and collaboration across sales, engineering, and legal teams. This internship also includes onboarding and mentorship opportunities.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Business, Commerce, Finance, Project Management, Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Claude.
• Available to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Able to work in the office at least 2 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Bid Management team in preparing and coordinating bid proposals, ensuring adherence to client requirements and internal standards.
• Support in gathering, organizing, and maintaining bid-related documentation, including technical specifications, pricing information, and legal terms.
• Facilitate communication between internal departments (sales, engineering, legal) and external partners in the bidding process.
• Participate in review meetings and contribute to process improvements in bid management.
• Assist with data entry and administrative tasks related to bid tracking and reporting.
• Learn and apply company-specific tools and methodologies for bid generation and project management.

Position Summary
