Job summary

Hitachi Rail Canada Inc. is seeking a motivated Bid Management Intern to join our team in Toronto.

This 12-month internship offers hands-on experience in bid preparation and submission for large-scale projects, with a hybrid work model and a paid internship structure. As a Bid Management Intern, you will coordinate bid proposals, gather and organize documentation, and collaborate with sales, engineering, and legal teams.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Business, Commerce, Finance, Project Management, Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Claude.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Bid Management team in the preparation and coordination of bid proposals, ensuring adherence to client requirements and internal standards.
• Support in gathering, organising, and maintaining bid-related documentation, including technical specifications, pricing information, and legal terms.
• Help facilitate communication and information flow between various internal departments and external partners involved in the bidding process.
• Participate in review meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of bid management processes.
• Assist with data entry and administrative tasks related to bid tracking and reporting.
• Learn and apply company-specific tools and methodologies for bid generation and project management.

Position Summary

Required Skills and Experience

• Available to work full‑time, 40 hours per week.
• Able to work in the office at least 2 days per week.

Preferred Qualifications

• Co‑op student available for a 12‑month term, with at least one additional academic term remaining after completion of the internship.
• Previous co‑op or internship experience is an asset.
• Familiarity with project management principles is an asset.
• Interest in technology, infrastructure, or industrial sectors is an asset.
