Job summary

Altis Technology seeks a Senior Power BI Developer to join our North York, Ontario team on a 3‑month contract. You will build enterprise dashboards and reports, integrating diverse data sources in both cloud and on‑prem environments, with emphasis on data quality and governance.

You will collaborate with business and technical stakeholders in an agile setting, designing scalable data models and optimizing performance across Power BI Service and Report Server.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Power BI development experience with Power BI Service and Power BI Report Server.
• Strong SQL Server and T-SQL expertise with query optimization, stored procedures and views.
• Experience with SSIS, SSAS, DAX, data modelling and performance tuning.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS or related field; relevant certifications are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI Service and Power BI Report Server.
• Integrate SQL Server, Excel, APIs, flat files and cloud sources into reliable, reusable data models.
• Write and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures and views; develop ETL pipelines using SSIS.
• Build SSAS tabular or multidimensional models and create star or snowflake schemas with DAX measures.
• Troubleshoot report, model and refresh performance while maintaining data accuracy, consistency and governance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide status updates and translate business needs into technical solutions.

Skills and Qualifications

• 58 years of hands-on Power BI development experience, including Power BI Service and Power BI Report Server
• Strong SQL Server and T-SQL expertise, including query optimization, stored procedures and views
• Solid experience with SSIS, SSAS, DAX, data modelling and performance tuning
• Experience building reporting solutions using multiple data sources and managing complex enterprise data requirements
• Strong analytical, facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to manage parallel workstreams and stakeholder discussions
• Experience with Power BI administration, role-based access, Power BI Gateway, Direct Lake, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse or Microsoft Fabric is an asset
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Microsoft Power BI or Azure Data certifications are an asset
