Job summary

FAIRMONT is seeking a Bell / Valet Attendant in Calgary to deliver personalized guest experiences and act as a hospitality ambassador. You will welcome guests, assist with luggage and vehicle operations, and provide accurate guidance on facilities and local attractions.

The role emphasizes attentiveness, professional appearance, and collaboration with departments to ensure seamless arrivals, departures, and guest requests. This is a contract position ending December 18, 2026.

Qualifications

  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license with a current abstract.
  • Minimum 1 year of hospitality or related experience; bell/valet/concierge preferred.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and perform basic math for transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly at arrival and departure, providing professional, personalized service.
  • Safely assist guests with luggage and vehicle handling.
  • Operate guest vehicles for valet parking in line with hotel policies.
  • Deliver guest requests and amenities promptly and accurately.
  • Provide guidance on hotel facilities, local attractions, and transportation.
  • Collaborate with Guest Services and other departments to ensure smooth arrivals and departures.

Key Responsibilities
Guest Arrival, Departure & Valet Services
  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and departure, delivering professional, personalized service.
  • Safely and efficiently assist guests with luggage, including transporting, loading, and unloading items.
  • Operate guest vehicles for valet parking, adhering to hotel policies and traffic regulations.
  • Deliver guest requests, amenities, and other items accurately and promptly.
  • Provide accurate guidance on hotel facilities, local attractions, and transportation.
  • Collaborate with Guest Services team members and other departments to ensure smooth arrivals, departures, and guest requests.
Guest Experience & Personalization
  • Anticipate and respond to guest needs, creating personalized experiences.
  • Maintain professional appearance, conduct, and service standards at all times.
  • Promote hotel facilities, amenities, and services thoughtfully and effectively.
  • Ensure all guest interactions reflect the hotel's commitment to connection, care, and service excellence.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with guests, colleagues, and leadership across departments.
  • Report operational issues, lost and found items, or vehicle-related incidents promptly.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless service during peak arrivals and departures.
Qualifications
What will you bring to this role?
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license with a current driver's abstract; ability to safely operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in hospitality, customer service, or related field; prior bell, valet, or concierge experience preferred.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and perform basic math for transactions.
Availability

Must be available to work days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays to meet operational requirements.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull (up to 23 kg.) repeatedly and safely throughout the shift.
  • Required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb stairs, and move quickly for extended periods during a shift.
  • Ability to assist guests with luggage, carts, and other items multiple times per shift.
  • Capacity to enter, exit, and operate vehicles of various sizes safely.
  • Ability to work outdoors, including in varying weather conditions, while performing valet and door services.
  • Physical stamina to perform repeated guest service tasks, including opening doors, escorting guests, and delivering items to rooms, while maintaining attentiveness and professionalism.
