Job Title: Behavior Support Technician

Location: Behavior Genius Center | Ontario, CA

Job Type: Full-Time | In-Person

About Behavior Genius

Behavior Genius is redefining what behavioral healthcare can be. We are a community-forward, social-emotional learning center where science meets the real-world needs of families. We believe behavior intervention should empower individuals, strengthen families, and create lasting community change. We are calling all builders — those ready to blend science with heart to support meaningful, measurable growth.

About The Role

The Behavior Support Technician serves as a bridge between direct service and clinical leadership. This role is responsible for providing coaching and mentorship to Learning Support Specialists (formerly Behavior Technicians) around client behavior support needs, writing and maintaining Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), reviewing and analyzing behavior data, and collaborating closely with Case Managers to drive effective, responsive intervention strategies.

You are the on-the-ground coach and data expert who helps the team deliver excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Coaching and Support: Mentor and support Learning Support Specialists (LSS) in the consistent and accurate implementation of BIPs and proactive behavior strategies.
  • Behavior Plan Writing: Draft and update Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) under Case Manager supervision and direction, ensuring strategies are individualized, practical, and culturally responsive.
  • Data Analysis: Regularly review behavior data to monitor trends, identify patterns, and collaborate with Case Managers to recommend program adjustments.
  • Training: Conduct 1:1 or small group coaching sessions on specific behavior protocols, data collection accuracy, and proactive intervention strategies.
  • Collaboration: Work in close partnership with Case Managers and Program Directors to ensure fidelity of behavior support plans and alignment with overall program goals.
  • Family Collaboration Support: As appropriate, assist in preparing materials or training support related to family guidance on behavior strategies (led by Case Manager).
  • Documentation: Maintain timely, accurate documentation of behavior incidents, BIP updates, data analysis summaries, and coaching activities.

This Role Is For Your If Your Are

  • A coach at heart — you love helping others grow in skill and confidence.
  • A data-driven thinker — you understand behavior through both observation and numbers.
  • A problem-solver — you believe every behavior has a story and every plan should be as unique as the learner.
  • A team builder — you work collaboratively with humility, communication, and a growth mindset.

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential — required.
  • OR enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Child Development, or related field — required.
  • Minimum 2 years experience working with individuals with autism or related needs in applied settings.
  • Strong knowledge of ABA principles, behavior reduction strategies, and proactive behavior support.
  • Previous experience with data collection, data analysis, and BIP implementation — preferred.
  • Strong written communication skills for documentation and plan writing.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (or willing to obtain).
  • Reliable transportation and ability to work onsite at Behavior Genius locations.

What We Offer

  • A growth-oriented, mission-driven workplace that values both science and soul.
  • Ongoing coaching and professional development opportunities.
  • Pathways for clinical advancement toward future leadership roles.
  • A team culture that honors creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.
