Job summary

Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) invites applicants for a Before and After School Support (B.A.S.S.) Long-term occassional role. The position supports a DECE in junior kindergarten to grade 6, providing general supervision in WRDSB’s before-and-after school program.

Applicants should have a high school diploma and prior child supervision experience. Responsibilities include fostering positive interactions, supporting play-based activities, and ensuring safety and inclusive practices

Qualifications

• Hold a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience supervising and supporting children in a positive, safe manner.

Responsibilities

• Follow the guidance of the DECE operating the extended day classroom.
• Support positive interactions among children, parents and staff.
• Encourage communication and self-regulation in children.
• Support play, exploration and learning in all activities.
• Uphold health, safety and licensing requirements during program hours.
