Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) seeks B.A.S.S. staff to support play-based programming for junior kindergarten to grade 6 in the Before and After School program. You will supervise students and work with a DECE to promote safe, engaging activities and healthy routines.

Applicants should have a high school diploma and prior experience supervising children in positive, safe environments, with a commitment to equity and inclusion and compliance with licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Hold a minimum of a high school diploma, GED or equivalent level of educational attainment.
• Prior experience supervising and supporting children in a positive and safe manner.

Responsabilités

• Follow the guidance of the DECE operating the extended day classroom.
• Support positive interactions among children, parents, care providers and staff.
• Encourage children to interact, communicate, and self-regulate.
• Support exploration, play and inquiry-based learning.
• Affirm inclusive environments and support children with individualized plans.
• Ensure health, safety, nutrition and well-being of the children.
• Maintain emergency procedures and safety standards with staff.
