Job summary

Long & McQuade Musical Instruments is seeking a Warehouse Associate for the BC Distribution Centre in Delta. This is a full-time permanent role in Shipping & Receiving, requiring availability on weekdays and physical work including lifting up to 50 lbs.

You will assist with loading/unloading trucks, packing/unpacking, operate basic material handling equipment, verify shipments, and keep logs tidy while supporting coworkers in stocking and general housekeeping.

Qualifications

• Must be a musician who plays at least one instrument.
• Physically demanding and fast-paced environment.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to excel in a self-directed work environment.
• Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer literacy and arithmetic skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in loading and unloading delivery trucks and containers.
• Pack and unpack goods for shipping and receiving.
• Use of forklift, pallet trucks and shipping carts.
• Inspect all incoming shipments for condition and verify accuracy against purchase orders.
• Distribute received shipments to respective departments within the warehouse.
• Process outgoing shipments to suppliers and other Long & McQuade locations.
• Work with standard shipping documents and online shipping systems.
• Maintain shipping logs and properly file all paperwork.
• Keep shipping/receiving area clean and organized and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Provide assistance to co-workers in stocking and restocking merchandise, and general housekeeping.
