Job summary

Peak Power is seeking a Project Engineer (Battery Energy Storage) to lead engineering on behind-the-meter storage and distributed energy projects across North America. You will drive feasibility through design, interconnection, and construction, collaborating with Business Development to ensure technical feasibility and with consultants, contractors, and utilities to build it right.

You will shape engineering practices, provide technical direction, and help grow Peak Power's asset portfolio

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
• P.Eng. designation or Engineer-in-Training status preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical power systems or energy storage.
• Knowledge of interconnection requirements and safety standards in Canada/US.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering standards, design criteria, technical specifications, and review procedures.
• Prepare electrical designs, calculations, drawings, equipment selections, and studies.
• Identify risks, design gaps, and mitigation measures; support timely resolutions.
• Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, contractors, utilities to ensure buildability.
• Support permitting, interconnection, and commissioning activities as required.
• Maintain organized project records and report status, risks, and milestones.
