RRC Companies seeks an Electrical Engineer IV - BESS to lead utility-scale energy storage designs across North America, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams in remote and office locations in the U.S. and Canada.

You will drive conceptual development through construction and commissioning, ensuring practical, code-compliant solutions. This role demands hands-on leadership, strong knowledge of MV/LV systems, protection schemes, EMS/BMS integration, and experience with interconnections.

Qualifications

• PE license required.
• 8+ years of experience in BESS or power systems.
• Lead engineer or technical lead on utility-scale BESS projects.
• Experience with energy storage software and interconnection requirements.

Responsabilités

• Lead the engineering design and execution of utility-scale BESS projects from conceptual development through construction and commissioning.
• Review and stamp BESS electrical design packages for projects.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and designers.
• Design and review MV/LV systems, inverter/PCS, battery container integration, protection and control schemes.
• Perform power system studies including load flow, short circuit, grounding, arc flash, and protection coordination.
• Manage scope, schedules, budgets and resources across multiple projects.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, utilities, EPCs, equipment vendors, and internal teams.
• Support procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup activities; field visits and troubleshooting.
• Stay current on emerging BESS technologies and standards.
