Job summary

Resorts of the Canadian Rockies is hiring a Base Operations Attendant at Fernie Alpine Resort. The role supports guest safety, cleanliness, and service in a dynamic mountain environment with opportunities to upsell and engage guests across facilities.

The position emphasizes independence and teamwork, physical capability for heavy labour, and strong communication to ensure exceptional guest experiences and smooth operations on the mountain.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, welcoming atmosphere for guests and staff.
• Assist and upsell guests at every opportunity.
• Maintain cleanliness of public areas and facilities (washrooms, base area, restaurants, dispatch, daycare, offices, maintenance).
• Follow WHMIS practices and safety procedures.
• Manage traffic at key intersections and in parking areas.
• Support Events Team and other departments as required.
• Adhere to Resorts of the Canadian Rockies Employee Handbook and Safety Management Program.
• Comply with Injury Management/Return-to-Work expectations.
• Perform other tasks as needed.

We are looking to fill the position of Base Operations Attendant at Fernie Alpine Resort. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a variable indoor and outdoor mountain environment, be physically capable of heavy work, have an eye for detail, and display excellence in customer service at all times. You Will

• Ensure a safe, comfortable, and friendly atmosphere for both guests and staff
• Assist and upsell guests at every opportunity
• Maintain cleanliness of public washrooms, base area, restaurants, dispatch, daycare, offices, administration, and maintenance shop.
• Ensure proper use of WHIMIS practices
• Control incoming and outgoing traffic at key intersections and in parking lots
• Assist Events Team and other departments as required
• Know and adhere to the policies, rules and protocols outlined in the Resorts of the Canadian Rockies Employee Handbook
• Know and follow all safe work procedures included in the Safety Management Program
• Know and comply with all expectations of the Injury Management/Return-to-Work Programs
• Perform other tasks and duties that are applicable

• Competitive wage: $18.25-19.00/hour
