Job summary

Chartright Air Group is seeking a skilled Base Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) to oversee maintenance for Challenger 605 and King Air fleets in Ottawa (YOW) and Montreal (YUL). The role ensures airworthiness, regulatory compliance, and reliable flight operations.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years as an AME, CAN M2 license, and the ability to read technical manuals, troubleshoot effectively, and work with aviation teams to minimize downtime and maximize client satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Valid Canadian AME M2 license.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a licensed M2 AME.
  • Challenger 605 and King Air 350 maintenance experience is an asset.
  • Experience in aircraft inspections (periodic and heavy).
  • Strong ability to read, understand and interpret technical publications and manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Base AME support for Challenger 605 and King Air aircraft in Ottawa (YOW) and Montreal (YUL).
  • Perform maintenance to ensure airworthiness and regulatory compliance.

What You’ll Do

Role Summary: As the Base AME, you will be responsible for managing multiple company aircrafts as well as any additional aircraft as required for operations in Ottawa (YOW) and Montreal (YUL). You will plan, coordinate, and perform maintenance activities to ensure aircraft airworthiness, reliability, and operational readiness, while maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements, company policies, and flight schedules.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced AME who enjoys working independently, solving technical challenges and having a direct impact on aircraft availability and client experience. Frequent travel to Montreal will be required to support operational needs.

  • Provide Base AME support for a Challenger 605 and King Air aircraft in Ottawa (YOW) and Montreal (YUL), as well as other Chartright aircraft requiring maintenance support in these locations.
  • Play a key role in keeping private aircraft operational by performing maintenance in full compliance with all regulatory and company requirements.
  • Dismantle and assemble aircraft systems for repair and overhaul.
  • Troubleshoot aircraft defects and carry out corrective action.
  • Remove, install, and functionally test aircraft components.
  • Certify that all technical records are originated and retained for all inspections and maintenance functions.
  • Maintain accurate technical records and ensure all maintenance documentations meet Transport Canada standards.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with Transport Canada regulations and company procedures.
  • Ensure only approved equipment and materials are used while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
  • Work in compliance with all regulatory requirements and company-wide, maintenance, and health & safety policies and procedures.
  • May be assigned to other operational areas, based on business requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
  • Valid Canadian AME M2 license
  • Minimum5yearsofexperience as a licensed M2 AME
  • Challenger 605& King Air 350maintenance certification are considered an asset
  • Experience in aircraft inspections (periodic and heavy)
  • Strong ability to read, understand and interpret technical publications, maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Sound knowledge of aircraft systems, aerodynamics, aircraft structures and basic applied mechanics, with proven diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Hands- on experience with disassembling aircraft systems, removal of defective components and installing replacement parts, components and structures.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and an effective communicator with a professional, ethical approach and a commitment to excellence.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong capacity to learn, adaptandwork under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Able toqualify for a RAIC and AVOP passes.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Flexibility to work on a schedule that accommodates aircraft departure and arrival times.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements, which include climbing into/under various aircraft; walking around, standing, and crouching, all for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg.
Hours of Work

Hours of work are based on aircraft schedules and operational requirements and may require flexibility beyond established working hours.
