Job summary

The Casino is seeking a bartender to join the customer service team, responsible for mixing and serving drinks at the bar or through wait staff to dining room guests. You will follow AGLC and PURE policies and maintain high levels of guest satisfaction.

Requirements include Pro-Serve certification, the ability to work days, evenings, and weekends, and fluent English. A strong focus on hospitality and teamwork is essential in a busy casino setting.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a fast-paced restaurant or bar environment.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Pro-Serve certification (ALGC) required.
  • Able to maintain security clearance if needed.
  • Be approachable and hospitable, with good listening skills.

Responsibilities

  • Check IDs and verify legal drinking age.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic beverages following policies and recipes.
  • Receive orders and coordinate with kitchen and wait staff.
  • Handle opening/closing duties and inventory counts.
  • Provide friendly guest service and upsell beverages when appropriate.

Job description

The Bartender is a vital member of the customer service team. They are responsible for mixing and serves drinks to guests, either at the bar, or through waiters and waitresses who place drink orders for dining room customers.

Job Duties
  • Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age requirements
  • Comply with all food and beverage regulations and PURE Policies and guidelines
  • Receiving and order guests’ meals and communicate clearly to the kitchen staff of any special requirements
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic beverages to guests following all AGLC and PURE policies and procedures
  • Following all standardized drink recipes
  • Handling bar opening and closing inventory counts
  • Assessing bar customers’ needs and preferences and making recommendations using suggestive selling techniques to enhance the guest experience
  • Interacting with guests and respond knowledgeably to inquiries about the menu, prices, promotions, specials, services, and features of the casino
  • Completing various opening, closing, and side duties such as cleaning and restocking glasses and disposable items (napkins, straws, utensils, coasters), wiping down service well liquor bottles, cleaning soda and liquor guns, wiping bar tops and counters, chairs, and stools, emptying, rinsing, and sanitizing bar sink and ice well, wiping down displayed liquor bottles and pour spouts, cleaning the cash register, POS and debit terminals.
  • Restocking perishable items and cutting fruits needed in the bar. Covering and storing perishable items with proper dated labels.
  • Serving food and beverages to guests following proper standards and guidelines
  • Following all food and beverage safety and sanitation practices
  • Handling various cash, comp, debit, and credit transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Making eye contact and offer a warm sincere greeting and fond farewell
  • Using guests name at least once in every transaction
  • Thanking the guest for visiting and ask about additional needs
  • Providing support as a Food and Beverage Server when required
  • Handling any additional responsibilities, in various Food and Beverage outlets, as assigned
Requirements
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced restaurant or bar environment
  • 18 years of age or older
  • AGLC Pro-Serve certification
  • Able to maintain security clearance
  • A team player who is willing to learn new skills
  • Be approachable and hospitable
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with a variety of customers
  • Possess high standards in customer service
  • Must be available to work days, evenings, and weekends
  • Fluent in the English language
  • Have reliable means of transportation
Work Conditions
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • At times may have to deal with unruly or intoxicated guests
  • Must be able to carry out light cleaning duties
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced working environment
