Job summary

Nanoose Bay Cafe on Vancouver Island is seeking a talented bartender to join our energetic team. You will deliver engaging guest service, craft drinks to order, stock the bar, and manage high-volume service with precision.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in upscale casual or high-volume bars, strong knowledge of liquor/wine/beer, and Serving it Right certification. Join our luxury hospitality team and contribute to a memorable dining experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in upscale casual and/or high-volume cocktail bar.
• Strong knowledge of liquor, wine and beer; cocktails/mixology.
• Serving it Right Certification required.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent guest service and create a memorable dining experience for each guest.
• Create and prepare drinks to order, service the bar seating and lounge.
• Prepare and stock the bar for service and execute high volumes with precision.
• Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative way.
• Process orders and settle bills using various payment methods.
• Follow restaurant policies, procedures and service standards and maintain beverage knowledge.

Welcome to the Nanoose Bay Cafe, a true west coast hospitality experience with a stunning marina ocean view! We are a growing company and excited to be in one of the most spectacular restaurant locations on Vancouver Island. We are an upscale casual restaurant that focuses on seafood with a hint of Asian influence. We have an extensive wine and cocktail program to compliment every dining experience for our guests. We strive to deliver luxury service for our guests from the moment they arrive, to the end of their meal, we want their time with us to be memorable.

The Role:

We are looking for a bartender to join our energetic and dynamic team. Our successful bartender will demonstrate strong work ethic, team driven and the ambition to deliver exceptional guest service.

What You’ll do:

• Deliver excellent and engaging guest service, creating a memorable dining experience for each and every guest
• Create and prepare drinks to order, service the bar seating and lounge
• Prepare and stock the bar for service, execute high volumes of bar service with precision and efficiency
• Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way
• Order and settle bills to various payment media
• Follow restaurant policies, procedures and service standards
• Have full knowledge of beverage lists and promotions
• Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
• Other duties as assigned

Our Ideal Candidate:

• 2+ years of Upscale Casual and/or high-volume cocktail bar/restaurant experience in a similar establishment.
• Strong knowledge of liquor, wine, beer and cocktail/mixology
• Demonstrates honesty, openness and kindness
• Friendly and outgoing, positive attitude and energy at all times
• Self-motivated learner, goal orientated
• Strong organization skill, able to work calmly and effectively under pressure
