Job summary

Fairmont Royal York in Toronto is seeking a full-time Bartender for MONOGRAM & Reign Restaurant. You will craft drinks to guest specifications, deliver attentive service, and contribute to a premium dining experience in a luxury hotel.

The role requires mixology expertise, Smart Serve certification, excellent interpersonal skills, and comfort with cash handling. Experience in a luxury hotel is preferred, along with a passion for hospitality and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Previous work experience in a restaurant/food and beverage setting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player attitude.
• Excellent cocktail and mixology knowledge required.
• Smart Serve certification required.
• Must be of legal drinking age.
• Cash handling abilities.
• Experience in a luxury hotel and/or bar preferred.
• Bartending or mixology certificate an asset.

Responsibilities

• Craft drinks to guest specifications with high standards of quality and presentation.
• Deliver personalized, friendly, and efficient service to guests.
• Suggest wine pairings and menu selections to enhance dining experiences.
• Maintain full knowledge of the menu and promotions to provide expert recommendations.

The Opportunity

As a Bartender at Fairmont Royal York, you'll be at the forefront of our guests' dining experience, crafting perfect drinks and creating a welcoming atmosphere. Your expertise in mixology, combined with your personable and efficient service, will play a crucial role in enhancing our guests' enjoyment and satisfaction. In this role you’ll get to:

• Craft Perfect Beverages: Prepare drinks to guest specifications while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
• Deliver Unmatched Service: Offer personalized, friendly, and efficient service, assisting guests with menu inquiries and ensuring their satisfaction.
• Enhance Dining Experiences: Suggest wine pairings and menu selections to elevate meals, ensuring every guest leaves happy and satisfied.
• Master the Menu: Have full knowledge of our diverse menu and beverage offerings, including all special promotions, to provide expert recommendations.
• Resolve Issues Gracefully: Address and resolve any guest dissatisfaction, ensuring a positive outcome.
• Maintain Stock and Inventory: Efficiently manage daily requisitions and complete month-end inventory accurately.
• Foster Teamwork: Work harmoniously with co-workers, assisting with duties while maintaining a high standard of guest experience.

What you need to succeed:

• Previous work experience in a restaurant/food and beverage setting
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player attitude
• Excellent cocktail and mixology knowledge required
• Intermediate bartending etiquette and technical skills
• Smart Serve training program certification required
• Must be age of majority to serve alcoholic beverages
• Cash handling abilities
• Previous bartending experience in a Luxury hotel and/or bar
• Bartending and/or Mixology certificate an asset

Physical Aspects of Position include but are not limited to the following:

• Constant standing and walking throughout shift
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
• Constant kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
• Frequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
